Community Advocacy
Chapter 2.03
Books, other library materials, equipment, and gifts of money are gratefully accepted by the Library. The Library retains the right to make the most advantageous use of materials it accepts, as well as the right to refuse gifts that are not suitable for the Library.
Gifts of money may be donated directly to the Library for suggested use in a specific community or program. Or, gifts of money may be made to the Alameda County Library Foundation or to one of the Library's Support Groups.
Gifts of books, other library materials, and equipment are accepted without commitments regarding final disposition and with the understanding that they are not necessarily added to the collection or used by the Library.
Large personal libraries or works by local authors are subject to these same considerations. Donors are encouraged to contact Collection Development through the Library website before making these types of donations.
