Alameda County Library invites people of all ages and abilities to come along for our 2024 Summer Adventure: Engaging the Senses from 6/1 - 8/1. Complete activities, reading, and more to receive a book gift and prize drawing entries. How will you engage your senses this summer? Find out ways to get started! 

Pick up a Summer Adventure Guide 

• Pick up an Adventure Guide and activity sheets at your local AC Library , opens a new windowor Mobile Library stop starting 6/1. We will have different activities available throughout the summer to give you more chances to submit, so keep an eye out! You can also download and print the guide available on our Summer Adventure page, opens a new window.  

Show us what you read or did

• When you complete an activity, share what you did online, at any of our AC Library locations, or Mobile Library stops and you'll get a ticket to enter our prize drawings. Use your creativity and your strongest senses to complete activities. These activities are easily adapted for all abilities and there are no wrong answers—just have fun!
• If you like to track your progress, you can also use a free Summer Adventure bookmark. Log your activities and reads by simply coloring in the books on the bookcase (pictured below) as you read—or come up with your own method; there’s no wrong way to engage!

• As you participate, we hope you’ll collect memories of your sensational summer to save or share. Enjoy the Submission Showcase of entries both at the library and online and let us know if we can share your entry so together, we can inspire adventurers just like you to join us!

Receive book gifts and prize drawing entries

• After you submit your first activity, head to your preferred AC Library location for a book gift! You will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win an exciting prize.
• This year, you can choose which prize drawings you’d like to enter! When entering the drawing, please indicate your favorite prize category. Prize winners will be contacted by a staff member, so keep a lookout. Don't forget—the more you engage, the more chances you have to win a prize! 
• Want a sneak peek at our prizes? Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Many of our prizes are proudly sourced from local businesses in Alameda County.
