2023 California Author Project

Kicks off on April 1, 2023

The California Author Project, in partnership with Library Journal and BiblioBoard, wants to find the best indie-published book in California.

This year the California Author Project kicks off on April 1, 2023, and submissions will be accepted through May 31, 2023.

Prizes and Eligibility:  

The winners will receive: 

      • $1000 each in Adult and Young Adult categories
      • Honors at the 2023 Indie Author Day reception
      • Opportunities to promote your book(s) at California public libraries
      • Inclusion in a full-page print spread in Library Journal
      • Opportunities to earn royalties through the IAP Select Collection (EPUB format required for eligibility)

Each book that is submitted must be: 

      • Indie-published
      • In an Adult Fiction or Young Adult Fiction genre
      • Written by a California resident
      • Available in either EPUB (strongly encouraged) or PDF files
      • Submitted through the Indie Author Project portal (link below)
