How to Use the Lockers
- Place Your Hold Online: After browsing the catalog, use your Library Card to place a hold and choose your locker location.
- Need an ADA-accessible locker? Select this option when placing your hold.
- Note: eCards can't be used to pick up items from Library Lockers. You need a Library Card to use the lockers.
- Wait for Notification: We'll email or text you when your holds are ready.
- Pick Up:
- Visit the locker within 7 days of notification.
- Scan your library card or enter your library card number at the locker.
- The locker door will open. Take all your items and close the door. All items have already been checked out to you.
- If you have items in multiple lockers, the next door will open. Continue collecting items until the screen shows "Borrow complete."
- Returning Your Items: If there's an item in your locker that you don't want, place it in the book drop next to the Library Lockers. You can also return any other borrowed AC Library items in the book drop or at any AC Library location.

Yes! You can request an ADA-friendly Library Locker. When you place your hold, select one of these options:
- Wally Pond Locker - ADA Accessible
- Warm Springs Locker - ADA Accessible

Yes, you need a Library Card to place holds and use the lockers. eCards won't work with Library Lockers, so you will need to switch it to a Library Card by visiting any library location to pick up the library card or using our Library Card by Mail service.

No. You cannot return items in the Library Lockers. Please use the book drops next to the lockers or return items to any Alameda County Library location.
