Have you always wanted to learn another language, but didn’t know where to get started? Go on a Summer Adventure and explore the language learning resources in our eLibrary! All you’ll need is a library card.

Pronunciator
Pronunciator is an online language-learning service that includes courses in dozens of languages for beginners and advanced learners, kids, and adults. This includes ESL courses for speakers of a large selection of non-English languages. Pronunciator’s interactive online courses feature pronunciation analysis, virtual coaches, scored quizzes, and downloadable audio lessons and phrasebooks.

USA Learns
The Office of Vocational and Adult Education, Division of Adult Education and Literacy (DAEL) promotes programs that help American adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. The major areas of support are Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and English Language Acquisition.

When people move to a new country, it is called immigrating. Immigrants enrich a country's cultural background and bring about many benefits to the new communities they join. Reading stories about the experiences of immigrants is a great way to broaden your perspective and learn about the stories of others. In this list, you will find picture books from our collection which encompass of a variety of immigrant experiences in a colorfully illustrated, kid-friendly format. These picture books are great for ages 3-6, or a family read!
Alameda County Library invites you to come along for our 2021 Summer Adventure, A World of Stories! From June 15 to August 15, let’s explore new and creative ways to share our stories while also learning about others’ stories through listening, watching, and of course—reading! Pick up an Adventure Guide at any AC Library location starting June 15.
