We started the Día Bookmark Contest in 2025. The contest was inspired by Día del Niño/Día del Libro (Children’s Day/Book Day). Día del Niño is a Latin American holiday held on April 30. On this day, kids celebrate the day with games and activities.
At the Library, we celebrate all month long! Each year, we offer events that honor kids of all backgrounds and languages.
Last year, more than 200 kids and teens from across Alameda County entered the contest. You can view the 2025 Día Bookmark Contest winners in our News Post.
