What's Available?

What You'll Need

  • What We Provide: We provide needles, black and white thread with bobbins, scissors, an iron, and other basic sewing supplies to use with our machines.
  • What to Bring for the Machine: If you need a different thread type or color, please bring your own. You may also bring your own machine needles and bobbins. To help protect our equipment, staff may not allow you to use supplies that are not compatible with our machines.
  • What to Bring for Your Project: You'll need to bring your own fabric and any other specialty supplies your project requires.

Safety Considerations

  • Turn off the machine before changing needles or presser feet.
  • Keep your fingers and hands away from the machine needle when the machine is running.
  • If the machine malfunctions, do not attempt to repair it. Contact Library Staff immediately for help.
  • Members under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian actively supervising them when using this equipment.

How to Make a Reservation

In order to make a reservation to use any Makerspace equipment, you will need:

  • A library card under the name of the person who will be using the equipment
  • A signed waiver for the person who will be using the equipment. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent/legal guardian sign the waiver on their behalf.
  • Complete the Makerspace Equipment Interest form to get started.
