Approval of Minutes of July 2, 2025
Commissioner Peggy McQuaid moved and Commissioner Margaret Fero seconded for the approval of the April 2, 2025 minutes. The minutes were approved by a unanimous vote.

Revisiting ACLAC Brainstorm
Acting County Librarian Deb Sica led a brainstorm session and asked the Commissioners to think about what their respective communities would like to see AC Library try. -

Erin Jones, Division Director of Equitable Libraries, provided an overview of the division and its departments and coordinators: Education and Literacy Services, Mobile and Outreach Services, Social Justice Services. -

New Braille Embosser in The Spark (Fremont Main):The Spark, Fremont Main Library’s makerspace, recently acquired a Braille embosser.
Sica showed a short video of the machine in action. - 5th Year of Summer Adventure: 2025 celebrates the 5th year of Summer Adventure. This year’s theme is Imagine and Build. The Summer Adventure program runs from June 1st to August 1st.
- 2nd Annual AC Library & City of Fremont Pride Fair: Sica shared photos from the recent Pride Fair held on June 21st in partnership with the City of Fremont.
- Proclamation: September is National Literacy Month: September is National Literacy Month. The Alameda County Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation in September to mark National Literacy Month in Alameda County.

Commissioners’ Updates and Reports
- Commissioner Baldwin shared that the Castro Valley Library’s very popular outdoor concert series has started. The music can be heard all across town.
Commissioner McQuaid shared that the City of Albany is partnering with the Library location to hold movie screenings and other programs for United Against Hate Week in October.
