Please be aware that the legacy OverDrive app will be removed from app stores on February 23, 2022. Libby will continue to be the primary OverDrive app.
Libby offers many unique features, including easy adoption, a unified bookshelf for all loans and holds, tags to track wish lists and favorite reads, push notifications, audiobook compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, access to The Great Courses, and much more.
Starting February 23, 2022:
- The OverDrive app will be removed from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Microsoft store. Download links for the legacy OverDrive desktop app for Windows and Mac will be removed from overdrive.com/apps.
- New users looking for the OverDrive app will be directed to Libby.
- Users who previously installed the OverDrive app (mobile or desktop) will still be able to use it without disruption at this time.
- All users can continue to access the library’s OverDrive website.
Later this year, we will share more details on how OverDrive app users will be prompted to switch to Libby and the plans and timing for the eventual retirement of the OverDrive app.
